Ringless Honey Mushroom Desarmillaria caespitosa, edible wood decay fungus for cultivation, plug spawn, and forest mushroom gardening
Desarmillaria caespitosa, commonly known as the ringless honey mushroom, is a widespread wood decay fungus valued for its edibility, aggressive growth, and adaptability to a variety of hardwood substrates. This species is known for forming dense clusters of golden to honey-brown mushrooms at the base of trees, stumps, or buried wood, especially in moist forest environments. With this high-quality liquid culture, you can grow ringless honey mushrooms in your own outdoor mushroom garden, food forest, or natural log bed.
Unlike other species in the honey mushroom group, Desarmillaria caespitosa lacks a prominent ring on its stem and tends to fruit in large, tightly packed groups. It is considered a good edible mushroom when properly cooked and is enjoyed by foragers and mushroom growers alike.
