Lace Inkcap, Coprinopsis alutaceivelata
10 cc/ml liquid fungi mycology culture syringe with a sterile needle
Coprinopsis alutaceivelata, also known as Coprinus alutaceivelatus, is an extremely rare inkcap species that we have successfully cultivated. It is recognized for its delicate structure and transient nature. Like others in the Coprinopsis genus, it produces slender fruiting bodies that mature quickly and begin to deliquesce, breaking down into an inky liquid as part of its natural spore dispersal process.
This species thrives on nutrient rich substrates and is often associated with decomposing organic matter. Its rapid lifecycle and self digesting behavior make it especially interesting for those studying fungal development, enzymatic breakdown, and spore release strategies. It produces beautiful lace like caps that develop and break down quickly, making it especially rewarding for photography if you catch it at the right moment.
Due to its short lived fruiting stage, timing and observation are key, making it a rewarding species for those interested in fast moving and dynamic fungal growth.
